"Tack control is another important aspect of conditioning inks. There are a number of factors which affect the tack of the ink - atmosphere, temperature, age (of the ink) and the surface that is being printed to name a few. Extenders are just what the name implies - a way to extend the volume of ink. Generally an extender will either making it more transparent or cause the ink to create a tint.
